The power of one: Reunited- Utility to be brought back together again Published Friday July 16th, 2010 - Daily Gleaner It was the news NB Power employees had been waiting to hear. Workers gathered in a hotel conference room cheered and clapped Thursday afternoon after NB Power CEO Gaetan Thomas announced the five companies that make up the utility are being reunited. Thomas and Energy Minister Jack Keir announced plans to reintegrate the five companies that were spun off as separate units six years ago. Gaetan Thomas, the president and chief executive officer of NB Power, and Edward Barrett, chairman of the utility's board of directors, outlined the proposed changes on Tuesday at a news conference.
