Pension Rally - October 17, 2008
IBEW Local 37 members attended a pension rally on October 18th in Fredericton. The rally was organized by a coalition of unions interested in reforming the Public Service Superannuation Pension Plan. Shop Steward training
Shop Stewards are vital to the success and smooth operation of our Local. The main qualities of a good Steward are the ability to listen, a willingness to help people and to help find solutions to problems in a constructive manner. They are the link between members, management and Local 37. If this is a role you would like to take on, call our office and speak to Ross, Gary or Claude.

PLGS Dragon Boat Team
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the people who contributed to the success of the IBEW 37 Saint John Dragon Boat team "Positive Energy"!
The team made it in to the "B" group finals where the finished a close second to the Rothesay Regional Police Force team. More importantly though, the team raised over $18,000 for the St. Joseph's Hospital foundation. It was a great day, a great event and I hope all members will continue to support this great cause, and others like it!
If you'd like to start up your own Dragon Boat team (or Run for the Cure, or Terry Fox team, etc.) look at the Resources section on the website for the application for financial support for Workplace Wellness and Community fund-raising activities. We've established support for members who want to get involved with these worthy activities and we'd love to work with you to get something going in your workplace!
Contact the Local 37 office if you'd like more information.
