Local 37’s largest employer is the NB Power Group of Companies. The NB Power Group provides New Brunswickers electricity at the lowest possible cost, consistent with safety, reliability and the environment. The electricity is generated at 16 facilities and delivered via power lines, substations and terminals to more than 370,000 direct and indirect customers within New Brunswick. In addition, the Group exports electricity to New England, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Over 2100 Employees in the following four operating companies of the NB Power Group are represented by IBEW Local 37:

Local 37 represents the administrative staff at the New Brunswick Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers. The Regional Council represents tradesworkers throughout New Brunswick and our members are a vital part of the Regional Council, handling all dispatching, office administration and record keeping.
Local 37 represents production staff at Rogers TV in New Brunswick, including producers, associate producers, video technicians and master control operators. Broadcasting on Channel 10 on Rogers network in New Brunswick, Rogers TV provides local community content which is produced in-house with the assistance of volunteers and community partners.
Emera Utility Services Inc., (EUS) is the largest Utility Services contractor in Atlantic Canada with offices in Halifax, Saint John and Fredericton. The customers they serve are primarily in the power and telecommunications sectors. Local 37 represents power line technicians, communications linemen and technicians and other associated occupations working for Emera Utility Services in New Brunswick. EUS was formally comprised of two companies, Cablecom and F.A. Tucker limited.
Local 37 represents Power Line Technicians and associated support trades working for unionized contractors represented by the Electrical Contractors Association of New Brunswick (ECANB). Our largest New Brunswick contractor is K&M Utility Line, based in Neguac and supplying power line services throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
