Does any of this sound familiar?
- Losing sleep at night
- Stressed over your workload
- Suffering from pain or discomfort
- Facing conflict at work or home
Maybe, maybe not. Maybe things are actually pretty good. Whatever your situation is, there are always opportunities to help make life a little, or even a whole lot, better.
The challenge is that it can be overwhelming and discouraging to think about all the changes you could make to help live a better life – – let alone actually make those changes. But what if you had some help figuring it out?
Together, NB Power and IBEW Local 37 are working on developing a total health strategy to facilitate the employer, employees and their families in making decisions in improving their total health. In other words, make life better.
But what is total health? Simply put, it’s the interaction of four “pillars”: physical health, mental health, work, and life.
Nicole Poirier, Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Emergency Preparedness for NB Power, is leading an advisory group of IBEW Local 37 and employee representatives from across the province. The mission of the committee is to help create and promote a strong, healthy and safe work culture at NB Power.
One its first priorities will be developing champions across the province, working to help improve the total health of our employees.
Stay tuned for more updates from the committee in the coming weeks!
