As part of the Enterprise Project Management Office, the Field Operations Specialist’s focus will be on the Transmission Line Life Extension (TLLE) program. The Transmission Line Life Extension (TLLE) program’s objective is to maintain the reliability of the transmission system through rebuilds and life extension projects thereby reducing the risk of transmission line failure.
The Field Operations Specialist role is vital to the success of the Transmission Line Life Extension (TLLE) program as it is the most front-line supervisory position in the program. Additionally, the Field Operations Specialist will interface with contractor Superintendent and staff to ensure they are fulfilling their contract obligations, working safely and managing issues as they arise.
Key functions include:
- Prepare detailed project plans, including timeframes and budgets in alignment with the NB Power Project Management Methodology during construction off-season.
- Support other Project Managers in planning of larger projects.
- Report regularly to meet the required project governance and oversight requirements within the Enterprise Project Management Office.
- Manage the execution of projects and contractor crews on site including attending contractor meetings, performing Quality Assurance (QA) and field safety visits on contractor work. Taking work permits and addressing field changes to ensure a smooth transition from construction through commissioning and turnover to operations.
The ideal teammate will have:
- Powerline Technician Certificate of Qualification (CQ)
- Six years of experience, post certification, in Distribution or Transmission Line Construction with at least four years of experience in Transmission including contractor/crew and safety oversight.
- Valid Class V Driver’s License
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
